Description

 

The Tourist Wellbeing Project is a portuguese research being developed in Madeira Island, Portugal. It merges two different but complementary fields of study namely Psychology and Tourism by applying psychological concepts and research methodologies to the tourism system.

 

The project has the following set of established aims:

 

  • Evaluate tourists' wellbeing in Madeira Island through the measurement of creativity, optimism, spirituality and wellbeing variables from a Positive Psychology perspective.
  • Evaluate the most attractive tourism product offers for Madeira visitors.
  • Connect tourists' personal and psychological variables to the activities they undertake in the Island.
  • Develop an app that will allow service customization according to the tourists "psychological" profile.
